Providing accessible play and support to children with additional needs and their families.
The facilities at our centre include sensory room, accessible soft play and a range of activities including messy play, art and craft, and role play. We run a range of groups including family plays sessions, after school clubs, pre-school groups and open play sessions for all abilities.
Supporting parent carers is at the heart of what we do here at SPACE, we aim to support parents in their caring role by providing information, access to other organisations, and the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation. Our service include information events, training and social groups.
Along side being able to play with their siblings at our family play sessions, we offer support specifically for siblings led by REST EASY mental health support. These groups enable siblings to explore difficult emotions, and build resillience whilst having fun with other children that understand
Our mission is to relieve isolation experienced by children with additional needs and their families by providing fully accessible support and facilities. Our centre, members, volunteers and staff provide the momentum that helps us affect change.
SPACE was set up by parents of children with additional needs who found locally there was very little support or accessible play facilities for them. Their passion and determination has been the driving force that has created a welcoming centre for families.
Our amazing team of volunteers, staff and trustees are committed to helping others and achieving the our SPACE mission. If you would like to be involved in helping us make a difference click here.
